Lorein has been practicing Qi Gong for over 20 years as part of her regular physical and spiritual wellness regime. She studied Hun Yuan healing Qi Gong under Master Chen Zhonghua, a martial artist and Qigong master.
This form of Qi Gong was specially designed for health and a preliminary practice for martial arts students. It strengthens the body, quiets the mind, reduces stress, and promotes relaxation. The Qi (pronounced “Chee”) is the life force energy which flows through meridian pathways of the body. Hindrance in the flow leads to poor health. Hun Yuan healing Qi Gong restores the flow to each body system (muscles, nerves, heart, lungs, spine, head and limbs) and enhances the healthy integration of body, mind and spirit.
Qi Gong can be a wonderful part of your wellness program, enhancing physical mobility and tissue vitality while also providing many of the revitalizing benefits of a meditative practice. At the beginning of each session, participants silently identify their individual loving intention for their practice. It can be for one’s own health, for a loved one, for the whole world, or whatever combination feels best to each person that day.
Classes are held on the first Saturday of each month from 10 am to 11 am, for $15.00 by pre-registration only. Click here for more details. Each class features special instruction and a hand-out of one of the exercises, given in order month by month. A 10-class package can be purchased for $130 (saving $20). Masked in-person participation is limited to 4 only in order to maintain social distancing. Zoom format participation is available for the same price.
